Air fryers often come with removable non-stick coated baskets and crisper plates. These can accumulate grease and food particles over time.
Cleaning Method:
- After every use, allow the basket to cool completely.
- Hand wash the basket and crisper plate with warm, soapy water using a non-abrasive sponge.
- For tough grease, soak the basket in hot water with dishwashing liquid for 10 minutes before scrubbing.
- Never submerge the main unit in water; wipe it with a damp microfibre cloth.
Extra Tips: If you notice odours in your air fryer, place a few lemon slices or a vinegar solution in the basket and run the air fryer for a few minutes to eliminate smells.
Both baking paper and aluminium foil are safe to use in an air fryer, though baking paper is preferable as foil may scratch the interior of the appliance. Ensure the baking paper or foil does not reach up too high as they may burn or catch fire if they sit too close to the heating element in the roof of the air fryer.
Immersing the whole appliance in water is extremely
dangerous and the appliance should not be used if submersion in water occurs.
